Currently, I work in the communications department of Beaver Country Day School, an independent 6-12 school in Chestnut Hill, MA near Boston. Along with the Director of Strategic Marketing, I am responsible for Beaver’s web and social media presence as well as print communications. During the summer of 2009 I created the BCDS mashUp, an online showcase of student work. Increasingly, I have been using my web and graphic design skills to produce quality communications pieces in-house.
Prior to joining Beaver, I was the technology specialist at Sycamore Creek Year-Round Elementary School in Raleigh, NC. Sycamore Creek is a new school that opened on July 7, 2008. I was responsible for all aspects of technology planning and implementation at the school. I taught a technology “special” to grades K-5 every-other week, with the remaining time established as a flexible schedule for me to collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into their classes.
This site will provide updates on my experience and other happenings in the world of education technology and independent school communications.
